The Horticultural Crop Research Technician is responsible for providing technical help and expertise for all facets of the Tomato Breeding and Genetics Research Program at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus. Requirements include a B.Sc. in Agriculture or Horticulture or a related area with three years of relevant experience; however, a Masters degree is preferred; or the equivalent combination. Thorough understanding and knowledge of tomato crop production, greenhouse management, tillage practices, and integrated pest management techniques; proficiency in the operation and maintenance of small and large agricultural equipment with a class G driver's license and pesticide certification is required.
